Q:  Can I replace an existing sign with a new one without first obtaining a permit?

A:  No - if an existing sign is being removed, and a new one put in it's place, sign permits are required.  If the sign is a NON-electrical sign and being installed on the interior, no permit is required.

Q:  Am I required to obtain a permit to change out a face only?

A:  Most jurisdictions allow the replacement of a sign face without permits as long as there are no alterations to the sign structure.  There are a few exceptions, however.

Q:  Do I need to get permits for temporary banners?

A:  In most municipalities permits are required for temporary banners.  There are also time constraints on how long they can be displayed as well as how many times per year you can have them.  We can supply you with this information.

Q:  Do I have to pay for my permits before I receive them?

A:  Most jurisdictions charge the permit fee up front.  There are a few exceptions that require only a partial fee up front or even upon issuance of the permit.  Eagle Express Permits requires payment for the actual permit costs up front or within (1) one business day.

Q:  How long does the permit process take?

A:  Typically 1-2 weeks.  It can be as short as the same day to as long as 3-4 weeks.  Again, it varies by municipality.

Q:  Why should I have my sign cleaned?

A:  There are a couple of reasons why.  One, your sign is the beacon to your business - what people see with their first impression could weigh heavily on whether they return or if they even enter in the first place.  Another reason is that property managers, along with most cities and counties, require the signs to be maintained and clean at all times.  There have been fines issued for this violation.

Q:  Where are you located?

A:  Eagle Express Permits is located west of downtown Portland, Oregon.  We are freeway close to all parts of the city, including SW Washington state and easily accessible to the Oregon coast and Columbia River Gorge.

Q:  What are your hours?

A:  Hours are typical of most offices - 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.  Keep in mind that we work many evenings and weekends for you - all at no additional charge.

Q:  Do you charge for estimates?

A:  No - we never charge for estimates (we like to refer to them as "cost analyses").  However, if the estimate will require extended time and/or travel to complete, we will discuss a cost to accomplish this and insure that it is agreeable to both parties prior to beginning any work.

Q:  Why should I choose you for my contractor?

A:  Understanding that you have a number of seasoned and very capable companies to choose from, we appreciate the trust and confidence you put in us to be your business partners and achieve mutual satisfaction.  We strive to always be the best choice in what we do.  We are so grateful that we stand behind our service 100% - and if you are unhappy in any way, we do not charge our fee.  You pay hard costs only.  Our fee schedule is absolutely the most competitive in our market.  There will be no questions left unanswered before we begin work and there will be no regrets upon completion of your project.

Q:  Are there any references I can contact about your work?

A:  Absolutely!  Feel free to send us an e-mail or phone us and we will be excited to give you reference information.
